It seems the earliest non-deity practices and philosophies emerge in the East and the West around 500/600 BCE, the time of the Buddha emerging in the East, the high watermark of Greek philosophy in the West, and the destruction of the first temple in Jerusalem, the exile of the Jews into Babylon and the development of rabbinic Judaism.
